Ian Joseph Somerhalder is an American actor, model and producer who was born in Convington, Louisiana on the 8th of December, 1978. Somerhalder breakthrough performance came in 2004 when he portrayed the character “Boone Carlyle” on the popular TV show “Lost”. Despite the fact that Somerhalder’s character was well received by critics he was killed off towards the end of the first season. Nonetheless, the character of “Boone Carlyle” made a come-back later in the show. At present Somerhalder portrays the role of vampire Damon Salvatore on CW’s “The Vampire Diaries”. |
