Paul Giamatti is an American actor who was born on the 6th of June, 1967 in New Haven, Connecticut. Giamatti attended Yale University where he engaged in acting as an undergrad, working alongside Edward Norton and Ron Livingston who were also students there at the time. Giamatti earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Yale and went on to earn a master’s degree from the Yale School of Drama. Prior to his first television and film appearances Giamatti appeared in several theatrical productions which included Broadway. Throughout the 1990s Giamatti appeared in a number of supporting roles in major productions which included “The Truman Show” and “Saving Private Ryan”. Later in the 2000s Giamatti began to acquire leading roles in film productions such as “Sideways”, “American Splendour” and the American TV series “John Adams” to name only a few. He has so far been nominated for many awards including the Academy Award and has won both the Emmy and Golden Globe awards among others.
