Egyptian director and writer, born in 1978. She studied at the Higher Institute of Cinema in Cairo. She debuted her artistic career by participating as an assistant director in El Lemby (2002) and You-Know-Who (2003). She turned to documentary filmmaking in 2004 when she filmed her first short documentary film Do You Know Why? (2004), which dealt with the lives of advertising girls. In 2013, she released her first feature-length documentary film Underground on the Surface about mahraganat music in Egypt.
