Add/Update Information: Awni Karumi - Director

Awni Karumi was an Iraqi academic theatre director, born in Mosul. He graduated from Fine Arts Academy in 1969, Baghdad and he had his MA and PhD in theatre sciences from the Humboldt University Institute of Theatrical Sciences, Berlin, Germany in 1972. He taught in many universities between 1977 to 1997. He participated in many Arab and international conferences, festivals and seminars between 1972 and 2002. He also directed more than 70 plays such as "Eight o'clock Breakfast" and "In the Danger Zone". He has won many international awards from film festivals in Baghdad, Cairo and Berlin. He passed away in May 27, 2006 in Germany.
