She was a Syrian novelist, born in the Salhiya Neighborhood, Damascus in 1912. She belongs to the generation of Syrian literature of the 50's, which witnessed a significant rise in the number of women writers of stories and novels, with a fine artistic quality. She has left behind a great cultural heritage of stories, novels and literary studies that were known for their realism and focus on eastern life. She received many certificates of appreciation, Syrian and international awards. She was married to Dr. Hamdi El Adelbi and has 3 children and she passed away in 2007 at age 96.
