He is an American actor, producer, and director, born in Buffalo, New York on May 16, 1969. After studying cinema and photography at Ithaca College in New York, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. His breakthrough role was playing Angel in the hit series Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997-2003), and it's spin-off show Angel (1999-2004). His other acting credits include Valentine (2001), Bones (2005-2017) and SEAL Team (2017).
