Syrian actor and musician born in 1897 in Jerusalem, Palestine. His family is of Egyptian descent and they moved to Tripoli, Lebanon, when he was a child. He formed a duet with songwriter Salama El Aghawani who wrote monologues that he composed and performed. He later joined Mohamed Abdel Mutteleb's band and then worked at the Damascus radio orchestra and worked as a composer until his death on 20 April 1955.
