Toqa Hesham |
An Italian writer who was born in 1979. She is best known for her semi-autobiographical novel "Things that Happened Before the Earthquake". Her grandfather was Italian journalist and politician Luigi Barzini Jr. and her great-grandfather was journalist and pro-fascist politician Luigi Barzini.
In 1994, she moved to the USA with her family and they lived in Van Nuys. When her parents returned to Italy in 1999, she stayed in California and studied there. She later moved to Brooklyn, worked as a waitress in Greenwich Village, and studied creative writing at City College of New York. In 2019, she won the San Fernando Valley Literature Award from California State University Library Friends. She is married to Luca Invasili and has two children, Sebastiano and Anita. She is better known for If I Love You.
