A British actor and producer, He was born on the 13th of November 1969 in Paisley, Scotland in the United Kingdom. He graduated from the University of Glasgow with a law degree. He started his acting career in 1997 in the movie Mrs. Brown. His best works include The Phantom of the Opera, 300, Law Abiding Citizen, The Bounty Hunter, and London Has Fallen.


Gerard Butler is a Scottish-Canadian actor born in Paisley, Scotland, on November 13, 1969. He spent the first year of his life in Montreal, Quebec, but returned to Scotland with his mother when he was an infant. Butler initially studied law at Glasgow University. During his time there, his estranged father, whom he had only reconnected with at age 16, died of cancer, causing Butler to spiral out of control into a deep depression. He decided to change tracks from law to a career in the entertainment industry. He got his breakout role in a theater adaptation of "Trainspotting," after which he moved to Los Angeles, where he finally got roles in big movies like "Dracula 2000" (2000), "Tomb Raider 2" (2003), and "Phantom of the Opera" (2004). Butler is best known for his roles in "300" (2006), "P.S. I Love You" (2007) and "How to Train Your Dragon" (2010).
