    He is a Veteran British actor, born in 1939. McKellen began his artistic career on the stage, where he participated in several theatrical performances at Bolton Little Theater. He participated in several TV series, and his first appearance on the cinema screen was in the drama film, A Touch of Love (1969). His works varied between theater, cinema, and television. McKellen won many awards during his long artistic career and was nominated twice for an Academy Award, the first time was for his role in the biographical film Gods and Monsters in 1998 as Best Actor, and the second was in 2001 as Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Lord of the Rings.
