Zach Braff is an American actor, screenwriter, producer and director best known for his long run as Dr. John Dorian on the hit series "Scrubs," for which was nominated for a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in 2005. Braff was born on April 6, 1975 in South Orange, New Jersey, where he grew up. He made his directorial debut with "Garden State" (2004), a big commercial and critical hit. Braff directed, starred in, wrote and compiled the soundtrack for the film, co-starring Natalie Portman. With a $2.5 million budget, "Garden State" made $35 million at the box office, won major praise and inspired a cult following. Braff also won the Grammy for Best Soundtrack in 2005. His other credits include "Chicken Little" (2005), "The Last Kiss" (2006) and "Oz the Great and Powerful" (2013). |
