An American actor, producer, and writer, born in Massachusetts in 1975. He studied at George Washington University and then moved to Columbia University. He began working in the cinema in 1995 with director Gus Van Sant through the movie To Die For. After participating for years in a few independent films, the major shift came through the series of films Ocean's Eleven, Ocean's Twelve, and Ocean's Thirteen. Casey Affleck earned his first Golden Globe nomination in the Best Supporting Actor category in The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. He won an Oscar in 2017 for his role in Manchester by the Sea.
