American writer, director and producer born on February 26, 1975 in Los Alamos, New Mexico. He graduated from the University of Colorado and worked as a production assistant in Los Angeles right afterwards. His writing debut was in the TV series Buffy The Vampire Slayer in 2002. His other notable works include The Cabin in the Woods (2011), The Martian (2015), and Bad Times in El Royale (2018).
