Egyptian writer and director born on 19 October 1928 to an Egyptian father and a Turkish mother. He graduated from the Faculty of Law in 1954 and the High Cinema Institute in 1961. He worked as a director at the Egyptian radio between 1956 and 1960, during which he published several books. He died on 11 May 2007 in Rabat, Morocco.
