An American writer and producer. He began his career in the music industry and received a gold record for his collaboration with the band 7A3 and producer Johnny Rivers on the score for the film Color. Following graduation, Robert worked as a lawyer for Sony Pictures Entertainment and The Walt Disney Company. He worked in legal affairs for Sony's home video division before moving on to Screen Gems. Afterwards, he served as the independent Newmarket Films' Head of Business and Legal Affairs. He is known for Summer of Soul (...Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised) (2021), Untraceable (2008), and Francesco (2020). He received several awards and nominations for Summer of Soul (...Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised), such as a shared Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature, the Gold Derby Film Award, and a BAFTA Award.
