Shaimaa Saied |
An Egyptian playwright, born in Cairo. He graduated from the Faculty of Science, Cairo University in 1947, and worked as a teacher at the Higher Industrial Institute in Shibin El Kom. He began his literary career by writing short stories and literary essays, but he soon directed all his efforts towards playwriting, starting in 1959. Among his notable theatrical works are The Smoke (1962), The Newcomer (1966), and The Night of Guevara’s Death (1972). He died in Cairo on October 1, 1973.
