She is an American author of contemporary romance and women's fiction, born in 1960 in Visalia, California, USA. With more than 45 titles, 12 million books in print, 20 different languages, and 25 different countries, she is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author. Her book, Flirting with Forty, was adapted into a Lifetime film starring Heather Locklear with the same name. She is known for writing Colors of Love (2021), Flirting with Forty (2008), and for her self-appearance in The View from the Bay (2006). "Take Me, Cowboy" won her the 2014 Romance Writers of America RITA Award for Best Romance Novella.
