Roushdy Saeed Boghdaady, born of an Italian mother and an Egyptian father who was a police officer. Spoke five languages. Graduated from Saint Marc college in Alexandria and did not complete his higher studies because he was sports maniac. His first steps as an actor were in the film “Al-millioneira al-sagheera i.e. Little millionaire” by Henry Barakaat in 1948. Two years later, he travelled to Italy to fulfill his dream of acting in Italian films but did not succeed. He married Sabaah, Taheyya Carioca and Samia Gamaal (actresses) and also married Barbara (American), mother of his only daughter Kesmat. He participated in the international film “Valley of the kings” and produced three films “Serr al-ghaaeb i.e. Secret of the absent”, “Ashour kalb al-assad i.e. Ashour lionheart” and “Tareek al-shaytaan i.e. Devil’s path”. He performed in the TV film “Al-safka i.e. The deal”. Rushdy was a unique performer especially in playing the role of Saber in “Emraa ala al-tareek i.e. A woman on the road” and excelled with director Ezzeddeen Zulficar in “Tareek al-amal i.e. Road to hope” through “Al-ragol al-thaany i.e. The second man”. He showed his great acting abilities in “Seraa fel Neel i.e. Battle on the Nile”, “Fee baytena ragol i.e. A man in our house”, “Al-zoga 13 i.e. Thirteenth wife”, “Kelmet sharaf i.e. Word of honour”, “Shay’ fee sadry i.e. Deep inside”.
Worth mentioning is that he played the role of “Al-zaaher Beibars – Mamlouk Leader” in “Waa Islamaah i.e. Oh! Islam” directed by Andrew Marton in 1961.
