He is an American actor, singer, and writer who was born as Artis Leon Ivey Jr. on August 1, 1963 in Compton California. He made his acting debut in the TV series The Parent 'Hood (1995). He's best known for his Grammy Award-winning hit single "Gangsta's Paradise", which was featured in the film Dangerous Minds (1995). His most notable works include Daredevil, The Green Hornet, and Pain & Gain.
