An Egyptian singer, born in Alexandria, in 1907. She became famous as a singer in the mid-twenties and early thirties, a period when female singers competed through nightclubs, but she used to record her songs on the discs of the Gramofon company. Among her most famous songs: How Sweet Is the Reproach Between Two Lovers, and Where Is My Heart. She participated in the film The Two Reps (1934). She did not marry, and she died in 1952, months before the July 1952 revolution.
