A Chinese actor born in Henan, China. He received his education in the Chinese Opera and was discovered by Liu Chia-Liang in 1978. He signed a contract with Shaw Brothers, the leading studio in Hong Kong, and appeared in many films. He also trained in martial arts. His works include Mad Monkey Kung Fu (1979), What a Hero! (1992), and Thunderbolt (1995).
