She studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and began his career in 1942 as a secondary actor in the movie In Which We Serve. He directed a film about Mahatma Gandhi, which won him the Academy Award for Best Director in 1983. He won several awards, such as the Golden Globe and BAFTA. He became known for his role in Jurassic Park. He won two Academy Awards in 1983 for Best Director and Best Picture for the movie Gandhi.
