An American actress, born in Florida to a singer mother, and a music producer and songwriter father. Her parents moved to California in 1973. She graduated from St. Augustine School in California where she became friends with the star Gwyneth Paltrow. She completed her studies at the University of California and obtained a degree in photography in 1995. She made her debut in the series Chicago Hope (1996-1997). She began to establish a name for herself in Hollywood when she participated in the popular comedy program Saturday Night Live in 2000, showcasing her comedic talent. Her most important works include Bridesmaids (2011), Away We Go (2009), The Way Way Back (2009), and Inherent Vice (2014). She is in a relationship with the famous director Paul Thomas Anderson, and they have four children.
