He is an Italian director, producer, and writer. He was born in Brunico, Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy to parents who were both teachers. His brother is literary scholar Franco Moretti. As he had passion for water polo and cinema, he played water-polo first division in Italy. After high school, he sold his stamps to buy his first camera, which he used to start his home-made short films in 1973, and from there, he launched his film career. Later, Moretti became one of the most radical opponents of Silvio Berlusconi's government. |
