An Argentine thinker, writer, and translator, born in Ixelles, Brussels, Belgium. He is considered one of the most innovative and original writers of the twentieth century. He wrote a number of novels that initiated a new style of creating literature written in the Spanish language, moving away from classical models, through a narrative devoid of the linearity of time and the use of characters with subjective behavior and psychological depth. He lived most of his life in Paris, settling there in 1951, and obtained French citizenship. Among his literary work is the novel "Hopscotch." He's known for Blow-Up (1966) and Furia (1999). He died on February 12, 1984 in Paris, France.
