Her name is Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll, born February 2, 1977. Born and raised in Baranquilla, Colombia. She is a singer , song writer, musician, record producer, dancer and philanthropist who started the singing career at a very young age during elementary school . Back then she showed signs of her infatuation with music and dancing. Shakira who is from a Colombian mother and a father with Middle eastern descendants demonstrated how her origins participate in making her music. As her dancing is a combination of both oriental and western moves. Shakira is a native Spanish speaker and can also speak English, Portuguese and some Italian, French and Arabic. She was engaged to the son of the former president of Argentina, Antonio De La Rua the engagement lasted 11 years and ended in August 2010, currently she is dating Spanish football player Gerard Pique. Shakira produced many albums such as : Pies Descalzos, Donde Estan Los Landrones, Laundry Services ( which led to her international success), Oral Fixation and She Wolf. Her song “Waka Waka” was chosen as the official song for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Involved in many charity events and concerts , Shakira is considered the second most successful female Latin singer after Gloria Estefan.
