American writer, born on October 23, 1965, Chicago. She graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She worked as a social worker before she pursued playwriting. In 1991, her play Jar the Floor premièred at the Empty Space Theater in Seattle. She received the National Endowment Award for Playwrighting (1995-1996). Her works, include: Glitter (2001), and Diary of a Single Mom (2009-2011).
