An American actress, born on January 12, 1967 in Boston, Massachusetts. She graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a BA in Political Philosophy. After graduating, she worked for MTV in the special effects department. She began acting in commercials while studying acting and improvisation in New York. In 2000, she appeared in an episode of Sex and the City. Her most notable film is Open Water (2003), for which she won the 2004 Saturn Award for Best Actress. Despite the film's success, she made only one movie in the next five years. She appeared in four films in 2008.
