An American director, writer, and actor, born in Los Angeles in 1968. He graduated from Blair High School in Pasadena, California in 1986. After graduating, he joined the writing program at the USC School of Cinematic Arts. During the four-year study period, he won three awards in writing, after which he signed a contract with Creative Artists Agency in his sophomore year. He began his career in the 1991 movie Boyz n the Hood, which he wrote, directed, and starred in, while his most prominent movie was 2 Fast 2 Furious.
