An Italian author, actor and director, born on November 22, 1907 in Rome. During his journey and his suffering with tuberculosis in adolescence, he spent several years in the sanatorium and during this period he wrote his first novel Gli Indifferenti in 1929. He was a member of the European Parliament of the Italian Communists 1984-1989. Among his most prominent works are: Love on the Riviera, Two Women, Contempt and The Conformist. He died on September 26, 1990 in Rome. |
