An Egyptian composer and lyricist, born as Khalil Mohamed Khalil in Al-Hussein neighborhood on June 12, 1922. He became famous in the seventies when discovered Ahmed Adawiya, and wrote and composed for him the song “Al-Sah Al Dah Embuh”, which highlighted the beginning of a new era of folk singing. Although this type of songs sparked controversy at the time, Ahmed Adawiya’s album “Bent El Sultan”, which he composed and wrote most of its songs, was the first album in Egypt to cross the one million sales. He was a member of the Egyptian Musicians Syndicate. He died on June 6, 2008.
