An Egyptian media presenter, she graduated from the American University in Cairo with a master's degree in journalism in 1991. She worked for CBC and previously worked for Al Jazeera and Al Arabiya channels. She was voted as the Best Female Journalist in the polls of Al-Ahram newspaper and Al-Masry Al-Youm newspaper in 2010, as her programs achieved high ratings at that time. Since 2005 until now, she had presented several media programs on Egyptian satellite channels, including "From the Heart of Egypt", and "This Is the Capital".
During the Egyptian revolution she disappeared in 2011 and returned again to cover the events after the former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak stepped down. She is married to the TV presenter Amr Adib, and they have one son. She guest-starred in the series Hidden Worlds (2018).
