The Indian-American actor of Gujarati origin is considered one of the most successful actors in Hollywood. His father is an engineer and his mother has a master's degree in chemistry. He joined the Center for Plastic and Dramatic Arts at Howell High School in Farmingdale, New Jersey. He moved to Freehold Township High School and graduated from it in 1995. Also He studied acting, kinetic dance and vocal training. Then he joined the University of California to study acting. During 2008 he was a faculty member and assistant in the Asian American Studies Program at the University of Pennsylvania. He is still trying to obtain a graduate degree in the field International Security at Stanford University. Kal was a member of the public speaking team at Freehold Township High School. On April 7, 2009, Kal Penn was accepted as assistant director in the White House Office of Public Communications and International Government Affairs. Kal is a close friend of Olivia Wilde.
