A Malaysian actress, born in Ipoh, Malaysia on 6 August 1962. She moved to the UK with her parents at the age of 15, where she studied ballet at the Royal Academy of Dance in London. She began her acting career starring in action and martial arts films like Yes, Madam (1985) and Police Story 3: Supercop (1992). She rose to international fame playing Wai Lin in the James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies in 1997. She's also best known for her roles in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000), and Memoirs of a Geisha (2005).
