Romanian director and author, born in Deva. In 2007, his short film Valuri (2007) won the Golden Pardino Award at the Locarno International Film Festival. His feature film Hooked (2008) had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival in 2008, a film that established him as one of the most important new Romanian directors, and since then, his films have received recognition at several festivals. Among them are the Sundance Film Festival, the Berlin Film Festival, the Chicago Film Festival, the Locarno Film Festival, and the Sarajevo Film Festival. His feature film Illegitimate (2016) had its world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival. |
