A Turkish who was born in Sanliurfa. His mother was a nurse, and his father worked in the post office. He obtained his primary education in Istanbul; afterwards, his family moved to the city of Izmir. His father died in a tragic accident in 1986. He began studying literature but left university, joined the acting school, and successfully completed his studies after 3 years. He is known for Karanlikta Kosanlar, Under the Trees, Urfaliyam Ezelden, and Payitaht Abdülhamid.
