A Kazakh film director, film producer, and writer, born in Atyrau, Kazakhstan. He has directed several Western works that have gained him international fame, such as the film Wanted (2008), starring Angelina Jolie. His most notable works include Profile (2018), Day Watch (2006), Yolki 5 (2016), and the TV series Nashi 90-e (2000).
