An Iraqi theater director who was born in the mid-1940s in the city of Nasiriyah, where he completed his primary and preparatory studies. He obtained a BFA from the University of Baghdad, Department of Dramatic Arts, in 1967, an MA in Theater Direction from Sofia, Bulgaria in 1985, and a Ph.D. in Theatrical Directing from Sofia, Bulgaria in 1988 for his thesis "Contemporary Traditions in Iraqi Theater Direction". Among the positions he held are an actor at the National Acting Troupe in the Department of Cinema and Theater in 1969, a director at the National Acting Troupe in the Department of Cinema and Theater in 1970, a lecturer at the College of Fine Arts in the Department of Art Education, University of Baghdad, in 1989, a manager of the National Acting Troupe in 1990, and a lecturer at the Faculty of Arts and Architecture in the University of Derna, Libya, in 1995. He directed the plays The Hairy Monkey, The Ancestors Are Getting More Fierce, and Where Are They Now. He acted in Al Qadessiya and The Bitter Winter.
