Rihanna was born on the island of Barbados on February 20, 1988. Rihanna started singing at the age of seven and moved to the USA at the age of 16 to pursue a career in singing under the guidance of record producer Evan Rogers, and later signed a contract with Def Jam Recordings. She participated in several movies, most notably Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017), and Ocean's 8 (2018).

Rihanna was born in Saint Michael on the Island of Barbados on February 20, 1988. Her mother, Monica Fenty worked as an accountant and her father, Ronald Fenty, was the supervisor of a warehouse. Her mother is originally from Guyana, while her father originated from Barbados and has an Irish descent. Rihanna started singing at the age of seven, but her childhood was highly affected by her father's addiction to cocaine and her turbulent life as a result of her parents' problems. She has an extremely simple upbringing as she used to sell clothes on the sidewalk with her father and in school she formed a band with two of her friends. At the age of 16, she moved to the U.S. to pursue a singing career under the guidance of record producer Evan Rogers, and later signed a record deal with Def Jam Recordings. In 2005, Rihanna released her first album, "Music of the Sun", which reached tenth place on Billboard 200 and in 2006 she released her second album, "A Girl Like Me", which reached fifth place. In 2007, her third album, "Good Girl Gone Bad", was released and made it to the second place on Billboard 200, while three songs from the album were ranked first on the Billboard, which are: Umbrella, Disturbia and Take a Bow. In 2008, she released a duet with T.I. called "Live Your Life" which ranked # 1, thus making her the owner of five # 1 songs in the U.S. The album was nominated for seven Grammy Awards and won "Best Rap/ Duet" for the song "Umbrella" with Jay-Z. In 2009, Rihanna released her fourth album, "Rated R", which reached the fourth rank on Billboard 200. Three songs from the album were in the Top 10 list, "Russian Roulette", "Hard" and "Rude Boy" which ranked first for five weeks. In 2010, she released a duet with Eminem called 'Love the Way You Lie", which occupied the first place on the billboard for six weeks and became Rihanna's seventh song to rank # 1. In the same year, she released her fifth album "Loud", which made it to the third place on Billboard 200. The album's first and second singles "What's My Name?" and "Only Girl in the World" ranked first place. In 2011, "S&M" made it to #1 and became Rihanna's tenth song to reach first place on the billboard.
