He is a French writer born to a Jewish family in July 26, 1885 in Elbeuf. He obtained a degree in philosophy and wrote about the history of England in 1937, and about the history of the United States of America in 1947. His fame began in 1917 when he wrote The Silence of Colonel Bramble. He is also famous for writing The Family Circle (1932), The Instinct of Happiness (1934), and The Thought-Reading Machine (1937). He died October 9, 1967.
