• He was an Egyptian athlete and actor, who was born on March 28, 1936 in Al-Darb Al-Ahmar neighborhood in Cairo. He graduated from the Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University in...Read more 1961 and obtained a BA of Military Science after joining the Corps of Engineers in the Armed Forces. He won several local and international championships, including the National Championship in bodybuilding from 1957 to 1971. El Gendy also established the Egyptian Federation for Bodybuilding in 1972 and served as its president for separate periods until 1993. He appeared in the movie Ashour the Lion's Heart (1961), which marked his only cinematic role.
