Vincent D'Onofrio is an American actor, director, producer, writer and singer. He was born in New York in 1959. Known as a versatile talent and an "actor's actor," D'Onofrio has earned the nickname "the human chameleon." After studying at the Actors Studio and the American Stanislavski Theater, he made his debut in the Broadway play "Open Admissions," followed by a number of other stage plays. He gained a record breaking 70 pounds for his role in the Stanley Kubrick classic "Full Metal Jacket" (1987). D'Onofrio is also known for his roles as Edgar in "Men in Black" and Detective Robert Green in the American TV series "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," which was on the air from 2001 to 2011.
