A German director and screenwriter, born on September 14, 1960 in North Rhine,Westphalia. He studied German and drama at university, after which he joined the German Film and Television Academy Berlin, and worked at the same time as an assistant director. After graduation, he directed several television films, until he debuted with the movie was in The State I Am In (2000), and he also directed the films Barbara, and Phoenix).
