An Egyptian media personality, born in Port Said, among four brothers. She received her primary education in Zagazig, and when she enrolled at the university in Cairo, she used to travel to Cairo daily by train and return on the same day. She graduated from the Faculty of Arts, Department of Psychology and Sociology at Ain Shams University. She grew up in a family atmosphere that loved art, poetry, and music, as her father was the artist and poet Mohamed El Helawy. She participated in all the artistic activities at school, and joined the university's acting team and worked with Samir El Asfoury, Enaam Salousa, Osama Anwar Okasha, and Magdy Megahed. She was also politically active at the university, joining the Socialist Union and writing for the university magazine. After graduating, she trained at Akhbar Al-Youm newspaper, nominated by journalist Mustafa Amin, but the labor force nominated her to work as a teacher in the city of Zagazig. When the television announced its need for broadcasters, she submitted her papers and trained at the Radio and Television Institute. After her success, she left the teaching profession to join television in 1963, and then took over presenting the program Children's Cinema on television.
