Rodrigo Junqueira dos Reis Santoro (born 22 August 1975) is a Brazilian actor. In 1993, as Santoro was studying Journalism at PUC-Rio, he entered the Actor's Workshop of Rede Globo. He went on to play roles in many of his telenovelas. His first major role in a cinema production came in 2001, with Bicho de Sete Cabeças (Brainstorm) by Brazilian director Laís Bodansky. Upon watching the film, Canadian director Robert Allan Ackerman signed Santoro for his TV production The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone. He then landed a role in the blockbuster Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, which started his career in Hollywood. He then went on to star in Love Actually, the same year. He also played a role in the third season of the thriller series Lost. For his role on 300 as the Persian emperor Xerxes, Santoro became the first Brazilian actor nominated to the MTV Movie Awards in the category of Best Villain. He also played the same role in 300: Rise of an Empire.
