An American actress, born on November 19, 1954, in Pasadena, California. Her father was a director of television sports programs. She has been married to actor Bruce Abbott since 1994, four years after the birth of their son, Tyler, in 1990. Her career began at the age of 19, when she played a role in the 1973 movie American Graffiti. She has appeared in more than 50 films, in addition to many television productions. She received a Golden Globe Best Actress nomination in 1978 for the movie I Never Promised You a Rose Garden. She appeared in the series Prison Break, yet her most notable role was in the movie Apollo 13 (1995).
