An American actress, born on August 15, 1968, in Brooklyn, New York City, New York. She is of Polish and Russian descent. During her high school, Messing participated in a number of school shows, and she also took private lessons in dancing, singing, and acting. Messing began her career in 1993 when she participated in a theater workshop, and then she participated in a number of episodes of the series NYPD Blue, while her film debut was in A Walk in the Clouds (1995), opposite Keanu Reeves. After a number of minor and supporting roles in several works such as Ned & Stacey and Seinfeld, in 1998, she got the main role in the series Prey, then in Will & Grace, for which she won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.
