A Sierra Leonean-American ballet dancer, born in Sierra Leone on January 6, 1995. She currently dances with the Boston Ballet and was previously a member of the Dance Theatre of Harlem and the Dutch National Ballet. She gained fame after starring in the documentary film First Position (2011). She has written two books with Elaine DePrince, her adoptive mother; the first book is Taking Flight: From War Orphan to Star Ballerina, and the second book is Hope in a Ballet Shoe. |
