An Egyptian lyricist, born in Tanta. His family's origins go back to the village of Ikwat Al Hissah, Kafr Az-Zayyat. After his family moved to Cairo because of his father's work, he completed his education there. The beginning of his career was with singer Faida Kamel in a number of patriotic songs during the sixties, followed by another group of songs that he presented for Palestine Radio.
His famous songs are those associated with the October victory, most notably "Bel Ahdan Ya Sina". In the genre of romantic songs, he collaborated with singers such as Mohamed Kandeil and Aisha Hassan. In recent years, he wrote many children's songs and religious songs. He died on January 19, 2017.
