An American actor, who worked as a policeman in the Chicago Police Department before deciding to pursue acting in his late thirties. He was famous for his role as Detective Joe Fontana in the series Law and Order, in addition to the roles he played in many films such as Saving Private Ryan, Get Shorty, and Snatch. He died of pulmonary embolism on July 22, 2013.
